Firefox Send
Mozilla is not a new name for anyone who has been into computers, internet, and browsing. Mozilla Firefox is a privacy-oriented open source web browser, It is has been one of the most loved company by those who browse. Other than the browser Mozilla has brought up with many products to our use within these years now meet Firefox Send, a free encrypted file transfer service. When you have to send a big file or bunch photos to someone without compressing it, you have the option to send pictures as a document through WhatsApp or use a USB but it is not an easy way. Another way is to use cloud services like Dropbox or Google Drive but it would consume your limited cloud storage. This was the file-sharing comes.
Firefox Send is a web-based free file sharing service that allows us to share files up to the size of 2.5 GB with end to end encryption. While users without a free Firefox account will only be able to send files of 1 GB size and to send files of size more than 1 GB we will need a Firefox account. For those who are at the receiving and a Firefox, the account is not necessary to access the files shared. With Firefox Send, file sharing is an easy task. The only thing you have to do is upload the file on Firefox Send. Once you upload the file you will get the shareable link of it and you can easily give that link to whomever you want to share that file with. To ensure the security of the file sending the Firefox Send gives three options:
- Limit the number of downloads
- Set expiration day of the link which can either after 1 download or after 1 day (maximum of 7 days)
- Set password to protect the shared link(optional)
By default, the link expires after the selected time period.
